 The Coronation Stand was erected in 1911 to commemorate the crowning of 
George V and was constructed as a public stand to hold roughly 2,300 spectators  at a time when the facilities at Moore Park were expanding quite rapidly.

Due to structural defects detected in the 1980s – it was scheduled for demolition
 in 1989/1990.
